Manufactured in 1940, factory records (copy included) states this revolver was in a 50-piece shipment to the Military Division of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (parent organization of Massachusetts state-level Army and Air National Guard) on April 18, 1941. The exact distribution of the revolvers is unknown, and detailed research could turn up an interesting history for this piece. Elevation adjustable front blade and windage adjustable rear notch sights, flat top frame, un-shrouded ejector rod and checkered trigger and hammer spur. The barrel has the two-line address/patent dates on top and Officer's Model Heavy Barrel legend on the left side. The Rampant Colt appears on the left side plate. Fitted with checkered Colt medallion grips. With a brown leather flap holster and factory box renumbered to the gun.

Excellent. The revolver retains 98% plus original blue finish showing limited muzzle wear and a few scattered minor scratches. The grips are excellent with a pressure dent on the bottom and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster is fine showing some flex wear and minor handling/storage marks with tight stitching. The box is fine showing some edge wear and some separation along the paper hinge. Most of the labels remain.
