The included Cody Firearms Museum Records Office Show Search Form confirms the serial number, configuration, grade, inspection start date of July 5, 1948, and final inspection date of July 12, 1948. Manufactured in 1948. Dual bead sights on the concave solid matte rib. The left rear barrel is marked "WINCHESTER - 12 GAUGE 2 3/4 CHAM.", the bottom of the Winchester proof steel barrels are marked "WS-1" and "WS-2". Each flat is marked with the Winchester oval proof. The right side of the water table is marked with the Winchester oval proof and the three-line patent marking, and the left side is marked "MADE IN U.S.A. MODEL 21/WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CONN." Directly ahead of the trigger guard is marked "SKEET". The matching serial number is marked on the upper tang, left barrel flat, on the forearm wood and forearm hardware. Single trigger with gold washed selector, tang mounted manual safety, and checkered beaver tail walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a hard rubber Winchester grip cap and solid rubber Winchester recoil pad. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .732/.732 inch; minimum wall thickness .029/.029 inch; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 1/2 inches; length of pull 14 inches. The included form also notes an August 20, 1951 repair order to have an extra barrel set fitted. The second barrel set is 26 inches with dual bead sights on a solid concave matte rib with 2 3/4 inch chambers, ejectors, standard marking and improved modified/full chokes. With leather bound takedown case with canvas and leather cover, oiler, and two snap caps.

Very fine. 97% refinished blue finish remains with some light marks on the barrels from the forearm and scattered light handling marks. The refinished buttstock does have some small spots of filler at the tip of the upper and lower tangs with light chipping around the lower tang. Otherwise, the wood is very fine with sharp checkering and some small dings. Mechanically excellent. Extra barrel set is excellent with 99% original blue finish and light handling marks. Case is excellent with some light storage marks.
