Manufactured in 1970. This fantastically engraved Browning Superposed features dual bead sights on the matte rib, 2 3/4 inch chambers, and modified/imp. cylinder chokes. The receiver and added side plates are engraved with highly detailed game bird scenes of pheasants on the right and partridge on the left and a woodcock on the underside. The balance features tight, intricate floral scrollwork, fine punch dot shading, and careful attention to detail in even the smallest parts of the game scenes. The trigger plate is signed "Ron Reimer" in fancy script. Reimer was a long time gunsmith and custom stock maker before working for Browning as an engraver and eventually retiring after 20 years to go on to become one of the top custom engravers specializing specifically in Browning arms. Fitted with an exceptionally well figured, Triple-X-English walnut three piece forearm with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with relief carved tear drop flats, decorative bead carved borders, and skip-line checkered bare butt. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .619/.620 inch; minimum wall thickness .045/.045 inch; drop at comb 1 3/8 inches; drop at heel 2 1/8 inches; length of pull 14 3/4 inches. With Browning canvas and leatherette takedown case.

Exceptionally fine as master engraved and stocked by Ron Reimer with 99% of the deep polished blue finish on the barrels and a few very light handling marks. The engraving is very sharp and detailed. The wood is also exceptionally fine with intense, dark mineral lines, crisp checkering, and just a few very small dings. A filled-in crack is visible on the lower right side of the forearm, running from the frame to the takedown hardware, suggesting a professionally mended chip. Mechanically excellent. Case is excellent with some storage marks.
