The left side of the slide is marked with the two block, two line patent dates and address, and the right side is marked with the caliber. The top forward portion of the slide has a relief chiseled Rampant Colt which is simply extraordinary! The right side of the frame is marked "C 4476" and "GOVERNMENT MODEL". The frame and slide markings are inlaid in 24 karat gold. The floor plate of the magazine is also engraved floral scroll bird heads design and marked "COLT/45 AUTO" in gold inlay. Comes with a Colt factory letter stating pistol was originally shipped to Belcher & Loomis Hardware Co., Providence, Rhode Island, on January 16, 1914, and consignor research related to Richard Roy.

Rating Definition:

Near mint as master embellished by Richard Roy. The metal surface has a bright finish with a few minor scattered dings overall. The grips are excellent. Mechanically fine.
