Produced in 1962 and 1963 in response to public demand for small caliber, high velocity handguns, only 3,300 of these pistols were produced. Built on the frame and action of a Ruger flattop single action revolver, with a rotating breechblock in place of the cylinder. The top of the barrel is marked "RUGER HAWKEYE/WIN. .256 MAG. CAL.", and the top is factory drilled and tapped for scope mounting. The receiver has the two line address on the left side, and the breechblock latch is on the left side of the breech. Ramped front and adjustable rear sights and smooth walnut grips with black eagle Ruger medallions.

Excellent. The pistol retains 97% of the original finish with some minor muzzle wear, a minor scuff on the upper left side of the frame and an area of touched up minor pitting on the upper left side of the breech block. The grips are excellent with a few minor dings and light handling marks.
