Description:

The Model 1819 Hall was the first widely issued military breech loading firearm and the first firearm manufactured with totally interchangeable parts. This one is dated "1831." It otherwise has the standard markings and features. Some of these rifles were used into the Civil War era. A socket bayonet is included.

Rating Definition:

Fine overall as arsenal converted to percussion with 60% brown finish on most of the surfaces other than the breechblock which exhibits an arsenal heat blue, scratches and pressure marks throughout the fine stock, and some small chips. Mechanically fine. The bayonet is also fine and has dark brown patina and oil staining.
