Description:

This model was the main arm of the Union infantry throughout the Civil War. The Providence Tool Co. manufactured 70,000. It has the standard markings and features and is dated "1864" on the lock and barrel (double struck on the latter). A "US" marked socket bayonet is included.

Rating Definition:

Exceptionally fine with some light patina forming on the iron, strong original blue on the rear sight, minor marks and scratches, some dents primarily near the toe, and distinct markings including the "OWA" cartouche on the very fine stock. The bayonet has some more patina and some oil residue. Mechanically excellent.
