Description:

One of only 2,020 manufactured c. 1837-1840 at the Harpers Ferry Armory under the direction of John H. Hall. It has standard markings and features including a sliding triangular bayonet and is dated "1839" on the breechblock. These carbines were used by the 2nd U.S. Dragoons during the Seminole Wars.

Rating Definition:

Very good with a mix of gray and brown patina throughout, some patches of mild pitting, some light scratches, and small dings and scrapes on the heavily sanded/refinished stock along with some small chips. Mechanically fine.
