Description:

The barrel has a post front sight and P. Denisov's Cyrillic marking on top flanked by etched floral work. The frame has the serial number on the right and screws that enter from the right. The cylinder has etched floral/scroll designs. Although the Russian army never officially accepted Denisov’s design, Russian officers often privately purchased the revolver. This revolver is featured on the website www.russianrevolvers.com. Provenance: Joe Leiper Collection.

Rating Definition:

Fair as typical with Russian Model 1851s with dark patina, moderate oxidation/pitting, signs of alteration on the grip frame, and heavy overall wear. The replacement grip is very good and has mild handling and storage wear. Mechanically needs work.
