Manufactured in 1863. The revolver features factory floral scroll engraving on a punch-dot background covering the breech sides of the barrel, frame, trigger guard bow and back strap. The letter "E" that indicate the part was designated for engraving is stamped above the serial number on the barrel lug, and below the serial number on the frame, trigger guard and back strap. The top of the barrel is marked "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA" (faint). "COLTS/PATENT" is located on the left side of the frame, and the patent date in one of the cylinder flutes. Matching numbers are on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, back strap, wedge, and cylinder pin.

Very good as period replated. The revolver retains most of the nickel finish mixed with flaking. The undersized replacement refinished grip is fair with high edge wear and some minor handling evidence. Mechanically excellent.
