Description:

This revolver was manufactured in 1853 and has the third model small rounded trigger guard, a dovetailed "rifle" style blade front sight, deepened hammer groove rear sight, the one-line New York barrel address, small "3" on the left side of the barrel lug and the cylinder by the serial number, "COLTS/PATENT" in small letters on the left side of the frame, "G" on the left trigger guard shoulder, and matching serial numbers on the various components.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus with 20% original silver plating, attractive aged patinas on the silver and brass, traces of original blue finish and case colors, gray and brown patina on most of the balance, some mild pitting, and moderate overall wear. The grip is very good and has mild lower edge wear, scratches and dings, and numerous hammering marks visible on butt. Mechanically fine.
