Description:

Only around 500 of these 24 inch barreled carbines were manufactured c. 1862-1865. 200 of those were ordered by the U.S. Army for trials in 1865. This example has the standard markings and features and no visible government markings.

Rating Definition:

Very good with a mix of refinished applied blue and brown along the barrel, some mild pitting, mottled gray and silver tones on the action, and aged patina on the buttplate. The stock has some dents, small chips, mild scratches, and a thin crack at the front of the comb. Mechanically fine.
