Description:

A total of 30,362 Smith carbines were purchased by the U.S. during the Civil War. This Cavalry Model has the standard markings and features including the matching serial number on the receiver and barrel at the hinge.

Rating Definition:

Very good with 60% original blue finish, traces of original case colors, a mix of brown and gray patina and some mild pitting/oxidation, general minor marks and scratches, and applied varnish on the wood which has faint cartouches and some small hairline cracks and a few dents. Mechanically excellent.
