Description:

Reportedly 5,002 of these carbines were ordered by the U.S. Government based on a similar overall design to the Starr percussion carbines but with a rimfire breechblock and case ejector. This example has the standard sights and factory markings, two cartouches and "C.R.M." on the wrist, and a small star stamped on the buttplate tang.

Rating Definition:

Very good with 40% original blue finish, faint original case colors, gray and brown patina on the balance, some light oxidation, and scattered minor marks. The wood is very good with clearly legible cartouches, mild edge wear, scattered minor dings, a small chip at the heel, and even re-oiled finish. Mechanically excellent.
