Manufactured from 1868 to 1881 with this example having New York retailer engraving and pearl grips. The embellishment consists of floral scroll on a punch dot background and cross hatching motifs. A geometric line and dot motif is featured on the back strap. The inscription "REMEMBER ME" is engraved inside a banner on the left side of the frame. The barrel rib has the one-line S&W address/patent dates marking inside a scallop border. The barrel and cylinder are nickel plated, and the frame is silver plated.

Fine as New York embellished. The barrel and cylinder retain 90% of the nickel finish and the frame retains darkened traces of silver plating, otherwise a smooth gray patina. The grips are excellent with limited handling evidence and highly attractive color. Mechanically excellent.
