Description:

Blade and notch sights, with ""WG" ARMY MODEL" and "455/476" on the left side of the barrel, "THRESHER & GLENNY 152.STRAND, LONDON" on the rib, "C.B. GODMAN" on the top strap and the "winged bullet" logo next to "WEBLEY/PATENTS" on the left side of the frame. Predating the American Revolution, the firm of Thresher & Glenny is both a noted supplier of royal apparel and was an active military and sporting outfitter, at one point establishing a company outpost on the Crimean Peninsula to meet British Army needs, and later being one of the firms to claim credit for inventing the World War I trench coat. Godman has not been identified, though similar inscriptions are often seen on privately purchased officers' sidearms. Matching numbers are present on the barrel and cylinder. Fitted with a pair of checkered grips with "W.G." imprints at the tops.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 75% of the bright original high polished blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, scattered spotting, light edge wear and a number of light scratches. A spot of deep pitting is visible on the rear butt strap edge. The grips are fine, with a few scattered dings on the left lower panel and scuffs. Mechanically excellent.
