Description:

Introduced in the 1880s, the Enfield was accepted by both the British Army and the North-West Mounted Police of Canada. Built around a hinged receiver, the Enfield auto-ejects empty casings on opening but had to be reloaded one round at a time via loading gate. It would be phased out of military service about 1878 and stayed in law enforcement use as late as 1911. Blade and groove sights, with a set of "crown/VR" proofs on the cylinder, "(broad arrow)/WD" on the left side of the frame, "11JE" on the frame beneath the cylinder and on the underside of the top strap, and "crown/BR/7" on the left side of the checkered grip.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 60% of the arsenal refurbished blue finish, showing areas of brown and gray patina, a number of dings concentrated on the barrel and cylinder, scattered spotting and mild handling marks. The grips are also fine, with some dents and scratches. Mechanically fine.
