Popular with both Communist and Nationalist fighters in China, the Shansei 45 Broomhandle was a locally developed offshoot of Mauser and Astra's imported Broomhandles. They took the very popular Broomhandle layout and combined it with the American-designed 45 ACP cartridge. Blade front and 1000-meter rear sights, with Chinese markings on either side of the frame, small ring hammer, "star" stamped bolt, and ribbed grips with a lanyard ring on the butt. The front strap is import marked "CHINA/45 ACP" and "BTC/S EL MONTE" (Bricklee Trading Company). Included with the pistol is a properly sized unnumbered hardwood stock holster fitted with a brown leather harness and shoulder sling.

Good, with half of the dull possibly importer reblued finish, showing scattered spotting, a few areas of mixed gray patina, edge wear, and some scratches and rubs. The grips are good, with some scuffs and dents. The stock is very good with some chipping of the wood at the iron and throat, and minor scuffing and cracking of the leather. Mechanically very good.
