Description:

Manufactured between 1894 and 1896. Barrels with doll's head extension, beaded blade front and three leaf (one standing, two folding) rear notch sights, and barrels marked "JAMES LANG & Co./102 NEW BOND STREET LONDON" on the left and right respectively. The receiver, hammers, and lockplates feature full coverage fine English scroll engraving with sculpted percussion fences, London black powder proofs on the water table, maker's marks on the rebounding locks, double triggers and sliding hammer block safeties. All visible numbers match. With checkered splinter forearm with engraved fittings, well figured checkered pistol grip stock with engraved grip cap, blank silver initial oval, raised cheekpiece, and solid rubber recoil pad. Stock measurements are: drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 1/8 inches; length of pull 14 1/2 inches, weight 10 lbs. 4 oz.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 85% of the refinished blue finish remaining, scattered traces of light pitting under the blue and clear markings. The receiver and remaining components have an overall gray patina with some traces of darker spotting, well defined engraving, and faint traces of original case colors. The refinished wood is fine with moderately worn checkering and small dings.
