Manufactured some time before 1875. Beaded blade front and two leaf (one standing, one folding) notch rear sights with standard Victorian era proofs on the flats and "T. MURCOTT/68 HAYMARKET. LONDON, No. 3623" on the right and left barrels respectively. The bores gauge at approximately .52 caliber with Henry patent rifling. The receiver, lock plates, hammers, trigger guard, and lever feature fine English scroll engraving. Fully checkered forearm with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with engraved steel grip cap, raised cheekpiece, and solid rubber recoil pad. Stock measurements are: drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 1/4 inches; length of pull 15 inches.

Very fine as professionally restored with strong visible Damascus pattern on the barrels, some light surface scratches, light spotting and some small dings. The receiver and lock plates have 85% vibrant restored case colors with some light nicks and mild edge wear. The wood is very fine as expertly repaired just to the rear of the grip with a faintly visible joint line, crisp freshened checkering, some small dings, reapplied rubbed oil finish. Mechanically excellent.
