Designed by William Caseley the then manager and later owner of the Thomas Bland firm. Single bead sight on the serrated rib with 3 inch chambers, single extractor, standard proofs on the flats, "T. BLAND & SONS/WEST STRAND. LONDON W.C.2." on the barrels, "THE BRENT" on the rib just forward of the breech, and improved modified/full chokes. There is a small importer mark on the underside of the barrel rib at the muzzle. The receiver is engraved with splashes of light scroll and standard maker's marks. With dual triggers and automatic sliding tang safety. Checkered forearm with Anson latch and pistol grip stock with initial oval marked "R.J.F." and checkered bare butt. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .727/.727 inch; minimum wall thickness .031/.031 inch; drop at comb 1 5/8 inches; drop at heel 2 7/8 inches; length of pull 15 1/8 inches.

Fine. The period refinished barrels have 75% of the blue finish with clear markings, spotting, small scratches, and traces of light pitting. The receiver has a mostly gray patina with traces of original case colors in the more protected areas, light oxidation, and handling marks overall. The wood is fine with worn checkering and small dings throughout. Mechanically excellent.
