Manufactured in 1949 during the transition period (late 1945-1951). Hooded ramp front sight, manufactured without provisions for a rear sight and receiver tapped for scope mounts and fitted with a Lyman sight (no stock cut-out). Jeweled bolt, follower and extractor with the bolt un-numbered. The bolt knob is checkered. Cloverleaf receiver tang, quick release sling swivels and late safety. Winchester legend on the left barrel side, "-SUPER GRADE-" on the floor plate and Winchester factory proof on the left side of the barrel and receiver at the breech. The highly figured custom pistol grip stock features fleur-de-lis type checkering, ebony forend cap, Winchester hard rubber grip cap, cheekpiece and solid Winchester recoil pad.

Very fine as custom stocked. The rifle retains 98% plus of the original blue finish showing a few minor handling marks. The attractive stock is excellent with a few mild handling marks. The checkering is crisp. Mechanically excellent.
