These rifles were the standard British sniper rifles developed in the late 1930s and used until the early 1960s. The receiver side wall is marked "No. 4 MK I (T)", and the butt socket marked "M47/1943/2225/F.T.R./TR". It comes with an original WWII British sniper scope that is marked; "TEL.SIGHTING.No 32 MKII/Ww/No.14849/O.S.1650A/broad arrow proof". The mounting bracket is stamped with the maker's mark of "JC" and is serial numbered on the upper left sides with "E33515". The rings are numbered "618" and "619" on the right side. It has the standard blade front sight and tangent military rear sights, stamped/milled components, its original matching numbered bolt assembly, and bolt head stamped with a "1". It has the correct wartime semi-pistol grip walnut stock with the standard proofmarks that is stamped with its matching serial number (2225) on the forestock and a factory replaced buttstock that does not have the standard "S51" markings. The top of the wrist is stamped with serial number "22875". The buttstock is fitted with a wartime pot metal buttplate with butt trap compartment and the correct screw-on cheekpiece. The scope is complete with original WWII British issue leather lens caps that are correctly British proofed. The scope and mount are stored in an original early WWII British issue No. 8 metal scope can with its original issue Mk I scope adjustment tool inside the lid. The top of the lid is marked with three paper labels that have the matching scope and mount serial numbers on them and also shows that it was rebuilt in Sept 1961. Complete with an original WWII issue, green wooden storage/shipping container that is marked: "Chest SA No.15. Mk I". The end label is numbered "BA8665".

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 98% of the arsenal refurbished black painted finish overall showing no wear. The wood components are all in very fine to excellent condition also showing no wear after being arsenal refurbished. The scope and mount retain 90% of their blue/black finish overall with the black paint on the front end of the scope tube having faded/worn off lightly. The scope can retains 90% of its green painted finish with clear markings and paper labels. The green wooden storage chest is in very good condition with 80% plus of its painted finish, clear markings, and the lid showing a long crack through the center. A very nice, complete example of a WWII arsenal refurbished No. 4 MkI (T) sniper rig.
