Description:

Traditionally associated with a limited number of Luftwaffe daggers produced by Robert Klass of Solingen, the use of black plastic as grip material for Wehrmacht uniform daggers has been the origin of a lot of speculation; one of the ones that grew legs was the idea of the "funeral dagger", a sidearm intended for somber occasions when brighter white, yellow or orange might feel inappropriate. The other, more down to earth theory was that Klass was using painted black plastic as a substitute for celluloid. 14 1/2 inches long overall, with a 10 inch blade, aged silver guard, alloy pommel, ribbed black grip, and silver finished steel sheath with oak leaf decorated suspension bands.

Rating Definition:

Fine. Patches of light pitting are present on the blade, which has been cleaned/polished. Mild handling marks overall. Grip is excellent.
