Unmodified "6 SA" curved side op rod. Smooth pistol grip stock with a boxed "S.A./G.A.W." inspection cartouche and Ordnance Department "crossed cannons" stamp on the left side with a single circled serifed "P" on the underside, and small "crossed cannons" stamp on the grip end. Raised drop forged marks on trigger, bullet guide, and follower arm. Breech is in the white and no import marks. Solid lower band pin staked in place. Single slot gas lock screw.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as correctly restored to original as issued configuration. 95% of the gray/green parkerized finish remains with some cycling marks on the receiver, handling marks overall, and some light edge wear. The stock is also very fine with some small dings and crisp markings. Mechanically excellent. A solid representative example of a World War II M1 Garand Rifle.
