Description:

This M1 Garand rifle was manufactured by the Springfield Armory in Dec 1941 that was supplied to Great Britain under the Lend-Lease Act in 1942. This rifle was reassembled with the original configuration type parts on an original receiver. The receiver heel has the standard markings: "U.S. RIFLE/CAL. 30 M1/ SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/ 397034", and the barrel is marked with the upside down "S-A-11-41" markings followed by the British "NP/Nitro" proof stamp followed by ".30 2" 18 TONS". The rifle has the following early parts: (1) type I/flush-nut, rear sight with checkered elevation knob and grooved windage knob, (2) milled trigger guard stamped with the drawing number C-46025-1-SA, (3) D-28290-5-SA milled trigger housing with -2 SA hammer, -6SA safety and un-finished hammer spring guide, (3) D28287-2SA/RE4D bolt, (4) modified D35382-SA operating rod, (5) wide base gas cylinder and single slot gas cylinder plug. The right side of the receiver below the stock line is stamped "REP 20" above drawing number "D 28291-14 SA". The left side of the stock is stamped with a boxed "BA/JPL" cartouche with a single circled "P" on the flat of the pistol grip. The upper barrel band has the slotted spring-pin. The stock and handguards have a nice matching oil finish. The receiver and bolt have a light gray/green parkerized finish, while the remaining parts have a flat gray parkerized finish.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as assembled with 90% plus of the mixed both original and arsenal refurbished parkerized finish overall with edge and high spot wear with finish loss on the receiver side rail. The wood components are all in fine arsenal refurbished condition. Mechanically excellent.
