The factory letter indicates this revolver shipped in its current configuration (grips not listed) with 5 other guns of this type on August 18, 1903, to M. Hartley Company in New York City. M. Hartley Company was the successor to Schuyler, Hartley & Graham/Hartley & Graham starting in 1899. The original company was once the largest firearms dealer in the country. The .32 Colt New Police was made the first official duty firearm of the New York Police Department by Commissioner Theodore Roosevelt in 1896. It has the standard markings and features, including matching serial numbers on the grips. The box has the matching serial number on the bottom in pencil, a non-matching end label, and reprinted papers.

Very fine overall with 95% plus original nickel and niter blue finish, some slight flaking, and minor marks and scratches. Mechanically excellent. The box is good and has some repairs, storage wear, and tears.
