This is a fabulous example of a first generation Colt Single Action Army revolver that was fully custom engraved/embellished in the traditional Texas Cattle Brand pattern pioneered by Cole Agee and carried on by Weldon Bledsoe. This was an extremely rare and highly desirable pattern developed in the 1940/50s that depicted the more prominent and historic Texas cattle brands used in the 1880s and early 1900s. The engraving pattern covers 95% of the revolver in the typical western style with the recognizable "Lazy 2 (sideways) 2 P" as well as many other famous Texas brands. All the engraving has a punch dot background with deep relief engraving on the grip and back strap, the recoil shields of the frame, the trigger guard and underside of the barrel and ejector housing. The only surfaces that are not actually covered are the cylinder flutes. The top of the barrel has the short two-line Colt factory address with the left side stamped "COLT 45". The left side of the frame is marked with the Colt two-line, three patent date markings with the "Rampant Colt" trademark behind the markings. The revolver is fitted with a beautiful set of two-piece (hollow back) Mexican silver grips that are embellished (on both sides) with several raised copper inlays, such as a Chief's Indian head, several floral blossoms, a sideways diamond and a horse head surrounded by a lucky horse shoe.

Very fine with 99% of the gold plated metal finish overall. The grips are also in very fine condition with all the inlays/embellishments. Mechanically fine. Just a beautiful and very scarce Texas Brand engraved first generation Colt Single Action Army revolver.
