The included factory letter states that the revolver was shipped in September of 1956. Fixed blade front and Micro adjustable rear notch sights, early style flat-top frame with the characteristic slightly red or "royal plum" blue finish, black anodized alloy grip frame, type 2 ejector rod housing, and type 2 ejector rod. With hard rubber grips with black and nickel Ruger medallions. With unnumbered correct model box and papers.

Excellent overall. 98% original blue finish remains with some light surface scratches, light edge wear, small cylinder drag line, and visible dings on the aluminum frame. The grips show some light handling marks and some slight warpage visible at the tops. Mechanically excellent. Box is good with corner and edge wear, some ink pen markings, and discoloration.
