Issued in 1967, this is one of only 25 custom deluxe World War I 2nd Battle of the Marne Model 1911 commemorative pistols the Colt factory contracted for engraving and gold inlay exclusively by Master Engraver Alvin White. The embellishment incorporates extensive engraved scrollwork, 25k gold inlaid bands on both sides of the slide, an inscribed commemorative banner outlined in gold on the right side of the slide, an engraved battle scene on the left side of the slide and the serial number in gold on the right side of the frame. The right side of the grip frame has Alvin White's gold inlaid signature cartouche. Includes a hardwood commemorative display case and a plain box hand numbered to the gun.

Near new, with only the slightest handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is near new with only the slightest handling marks and the box is very good with some scattered minor wear.
