Description:

If not for the "Remington" marking on the left side of the frame, observers could easily dismiss this handgun as a Colt Single Action Army Revolver or one of the many SAA clones. The serial number "02X" attributes this revolver as a Remington experimental from the modern period. Remington has been absent from the single action revolver market since the late 19th century. Introduced in 1875, the Model 1875 was Remington's first attempt to compete with Colt's Single Action Army revolver. The Model 1875 was followed by the Model 1888 and the Model 1890 and then Remington ended its line of single action revolvers. Fast forward to the second half of the 20th century, and this revolver suggests that Remington contemplated reentering the single action revolver market. The left side of the frame is marked "Remington." The experimental serial number "02X" appears on the frame and butt. The left side of the grip strap is stamped "KM." (under the grip) The front cylinder face is marked "2" and "2." It is fitted with blade and frame groove sights. The cylinder pin is released by pushing on the cross pin on the right side. The ejector rod has a solid round head.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The revolver retains nearly 98% of the blue finish with mild thinning on the grip straps and some minor handling evidence. There are a few areas of minor pitting under the finish. The grips are fine showing some minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
