Built on a World War I vintage Colt USGI Model 1911 frame by Armand Swenson of California. Swenson is regarded by some as the father of the current generation of custom and semi-custom 1911 pistols with his use of oversized barrel bushings, extended and ambidextrous thumb safeties, and finely checkered grip surfaces on the front strap and trigger guard. Serrated ramp blade front and S&W K frame style adjustable rear notch sights, fully textured slide top, lowered and flared ejector port, extended ambidextrous thumb safety, checkered wide spur hammer, serrated adjustable trigger, squared and checkered trigger guard, checkered front strap, extended grip safety, and arched checkered mainspring housing. The thumb safety, slide, and frame are all marked "A.D. SWENSON/CALIF." With a full satin hard chrome finish and checkered grips.

Very good as assembled and finished by Armand Swenson with 98% of the chrome finish remaining, some traces of light pitting under the chrome, small nicks and scratches, and general handling marks throughout. The grips are excellent with sharp checkering and a few small dings. Mechanically excellent. A fine representative example of an Armand Swenson custom pistol.
