Description:

This interesting piece has no identifying markings. It has a flat faced, double throated cock is secured by a pin on the inside along the tumbler. The lock is secured by two cross screws and one screw into the stock at the tail. The barrel has multiple bands. The stock has carved flats around the barrel tang and sides.

Rating Definition:

Fair as altered/assembled with heavy wear and pitting along with some tool marks on the barrel, dark aged patina and some oxidation and pitting on the other components, and chipped, cracked, and heavily worn stock with a spliced forend. Hammer is a modern replacement. Mechanically fine. This certainly has the look of a colonial era doglock.
