There were only 250 of these One of One Thousand Model 94 carbines exclusively engraved for Winchester with this carbine being number 144. The Italian nitro proofed receiver features profuse relief engraved floral scrollwork on a matte background, gold inlaid scroll bordering, and highly detailed panel scenes beautifully engraved on each side. The left side of the receiver has the iconic Winchester horse and rider logo, and the right side of the receiver has a bugling elk standing over another elk in a mountain scene. The receiver is marked "Bottega C. Giovanelli" for the Giovanelli engraving studio and numbered ("144/250") on the left side. The floral scrollwork extends to both barrel bands and buttplate, an engraved floral motif accented with gold inlaid scroll bordering appears on the lever, a floral blossom is engraved on the magazine tube cap, and gold inlaid bands are found on the barrel at the breech and muzzle. "One of One Thousand" is inscribed in gold on the barrel and buttplate. The tang model marking, Model 94 barrel legend and serial number are also in gold. The highly figure walnut forearm and straight grip stock feature fine checkering. Each one of these carbines required 70 hours of engraving and 8 grams of gold, and they were distributed in Europe only.
