Description:

This functional, all brass replica appears to be manufactured by Furr, though it lacks the normal Furr markings on the bottom of the action. The 1893 is an evolution of Richard Gatling's original 1862 design. Original examples were manufactured in limited numbers in the 1890s and were a shortened version of the "Bulldog" Gatling with an in-line crank handle and manually powered Accles drum magazine. They were marketed towards police forces as civil defense/anti-riot weapons. The overall length is just shy of one foot and it stands about 19 1/2 inches from the base of the tripod to the top of the magazine. The top of the body is engraved with a reproduction of the original Gatling markings and indicates this is serial number 129. It has post and elevation adjustable notch sights offset to the right side. The tripod is also adjustable for elevation and rotates.

Rating Definition:

Very good overall, showing mostly bright brass with some scattered areas showing an attractive antique patina, some minor dings near the muzzle of the tube and some light handling marks overall. Mechanically fine.
