Manufactured in 1903. The left side of the early barrel bushing slide is marked with the two-line, two-block "BROWNING'S PATENT" date and address and circled Rampant Colt behind the serrations. The right side of the slide is marked "AUTOMATIC COLT/CALIBRE 32 RIMLESS SMOKELESS". It is fitted with a rounded blade front sight and rounded top notch rear sight, nitre blued small parts, checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt and Colt scalloped banner, and a full blue magazine. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration (grips not listed) as well as shipment to W.A. Abel & Co. of Syracuse, New York on 10 November 1903. Very fine, retains 85% plus of the original high polish blue finish and 90% of the original nitre blue with the balance mostly a smooth grey patina and a large patch of mild pitting visible on the upper right of the slide just in front of the ejector port. The grips are excellent with minimal handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
