Manufactured from 1906 to 1936. Offered here is the D grade of the Model 8 as it features approximately 1/4 coverage of fine scroll engraving as well as zig zag line borders on the receiver. Additional engraving appears on the barrel at the breech, magazine and trigger guard. The serial number is engraved on the underside of the frame. The rifle is fitted with a combination Beach front sight, an elevation adjustable rear sight and a M.S.A. tang sight. The nicely figured walnut forearm and straight grip stock are checkered. The buttstock is fitted with a hard rubber Remington buttplate. According to the consignor, this rifle was owned by his grandfather, a Midwest doctor whose office was across the street from a local bank and if the need arose he was tasked to lean out his office window to shoot at bank robbers in the 1930s.

Fine, retaining 60% original blue finish with thinning to a brown on the balance along with some spotting mostly on the barrel. The engraving is crisp. The wood is also fine with a number of minor scratches, a plugged sling swivel hole on the buttstock underside and a few blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
