Antique U.S.N. Colt Model 1895 New Navy Double Action Revolver with Holster and Factory Letter

Manufactured in 1898 with standard markings and features including Navy number "N319" (scarce) and trident marking on the butt as well as assembly number "496" on various parts including the inside of each grip panel. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration as well as the "N319" government number and shipment to United States Government, 2nd Naval Battalion in Brooklyn, New York on 10 May 1898 in a 100 gun shipment. Includes a correct pattern canvas Mills Woven Cartridge Belt Co. holster featuring a naval style button. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection

ConditionVery fine overall, retains 85% plus bright original high polish blue finish with the balance thinning to a smooth grey patina and minor scratches/handling marks throughout. The grips are very fine with some minor dings and scratches, and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent. The holster is very good with some mild verdigris and wear on the metal.
