Manufactured in 1886 and subsequently embellished, likely by a London retailer, with extensive damascene gold inlay. The inlay primarily features floral patterns and zig-zag borders, as well as the Rampant Colt on the left of the frame. The top of the barrel has the two-line address and the left is marked "NEW HOUSE 38". It has standard features including a pair of checkered hard rubber grips with "COLT" in ovals at the top. The included factory letter confirms the configuration (grips not listed) apart from the damascene embellishment, as well as sale to the Colt London Agency and shipment to Winchester Repeating Arms Company on 1 February 1893. Includes a period custom leatherette wrapped hard case.

Fine, retains 60% of the retailer applied blue finish and nearly all of the gold damascene with some scattered patches of light pitting and oxidation. The grips are very good with a few scattered minor flat spots and light handling marks, otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some mild handling/storage wear.
