The accompanying factory letter confirms the 7 1/2 inch barrel in .45 caliber, blue finish, "wood" stocks, and special order 3 1/2 to 4 pound trigger pull. The letter also states the revolver was sold and shipped to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co., Chicago, Illinois, on November 12, 1912. This was a single gun shipment. A Sheard pinned beaded blade front sight has been added (pinned to the cut down original factory blade sight). The barrel has the one-line Hartford address on top and "45 COLT" on the left side. The left side of the trigger guard has the two-line patent dates followed by a Rampant Colt. The trigger guard has a Colt factory triangle proof on the left side and a Colt factory six-pointed rework star on the right side. Matching serial numbers are on the frame, trigger guard, and back strap.
