These deringers were introduced in 1870 and totaled around 48,000 produced, with both of these being the second type with the more gently sloped hammers. Both are marked "-COLT-" in italics on the tops of the barrels and British proofs on the bottoms, the serial numbers on the left of the grip frame underneath the grips, and the caliber marking on the left of the frames. The left of the frame on the "B" gun also has a "C" and Rampant Colt and the back strap of the "A" gun is stamped with the serial number. Both are fitted with smooth hardwood grips. Includes a leather wrapped hard case fitted for both deringers, four .41 RF cartridges, and a cleaning rod.

Fine, retains 75% plus of the period, likely retailer, applied nickel finish with the balance having thinned to either a smooth grey patina or attractively aged brass. The grips are very good with some scattered light handling marks and retaining most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with some mild wear, mostly on the corners.
