Description:

Intended for anti-aircraft work, the BREN drum magazine gave the weapon a capacity of about 100 rounds. While giving the BREN a profile similar to the earlier Lewis Gun, the BREN drum uses a windable internal spring mechanism instead of being recoil operated, and was enclosed on the underside to reduce the chances of foreign material entering the feed mechanism. All four drums fit into a green painted hardwood storage case along with a mounting adapter, a winding handle, and a bracket for loading and tensioning. An instruction sheet (with a pasted-on update for the winding handle) is pasted to the inside of the lid, with white paint nomenclature applied to the exterior.

Rating Definition:

Fine overall. The drums and tools show areas of light pitting and scattered spotting. The set has not been tested, but appears to be in good order. The metal bracket has been secured to a new piece of wood for support, but otherwise looks proper for the set. The case shows mild wear and scuffs.
