Manufactured in 1938 and subsequently beautifully embellished. The blued barrel has two gold bands at the muzzle, beaded blade front sight, elevation adjustable rear sight, and standard markings. The blued receiver displays attractive scrollwork surrounding gold bordered gold inlaid game scenes showing a trio of rabbits on the left and a pair of squirrels on the right. The work is unsigned but clearly done by skilled hands. Lightly figured, multi-point checkered forend and pistol grip stock with factory grip cap and blued steel buttplate. Provenance: The Marvin L. Very fine overall as custom embellished, retaining 99% blue and gold finishes with minor handling evidence, slight ill-fitting grip cap, and sharp wood checkering. Mechanically excellent.
