Description:

Lock is marked "Mre. Rle/de Mutzig" ahead of the cock, and there is a "star/S" in an oval at the top between the cock and flash pan. There is a recessed "H" in a square and "23" stamped on the underside of the flash pan. The bottom of the trigger guard is marked with a recessed "crown/L" in a diamond, and the lower tang is marked with a "C" in a shield and recessed "crown/H". The lock components are iron, with the exception of the removable brass flash pan. Brass mountings, except for the iron trigger guard plate, blade front sight on the forward barrel band, bayonet lug on the underside of the barrel, sling swivel mounted on the middle barrel band and ahead of the trigger guard bow, and mounted with a full straight grip stock with a dished cheek rest and inset brass plate on the left side of the buttstock inscribed "Roussier" and a small inset black five point star on the right. Rating Definition:

Very fine. The metal surfaces have a bright appearance with some small areas of minor discoloration. The brass has an attractive aged patina. The stock has been varnished and remains very fine with a few scattered minor dents and dings. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
