Description:

This revolver was manufactured in the 1870s and 1880s by Hopkins & Allen for Merwin, Hulbert & Co. It is a desirable "Pocket Army" variant without a top strap based on their large frame single action "Army Revolver." The Hopkins & Allen address and patent marking is in two lines on the left side of the barrel. The left side of the frame has "CALIBRE/WINCHESTER" followed by "1873", and the right side has the two-line Merwin, Hulbert & Co. address. The barrel has a round blade front sight, and an integral notch rear sight is part of the recoil shield. The cylinder has the oval "scooped" flutes. The assembly numbers throughout match, and the serial number is marked on the right side of the bird's head grip frame.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 90% plus of the original nickel plating, and original case colors remain visible on the hammer and trigger guard. There are groups of strike marks and scratches throughout, and the front sight has been filed down approximately half way. The grips are also very fine and have crisp checkering, a few scratches, and lightly aged tones. Mechanically fine.
