A very fine example of one of only 1,000 "lange" barrel or artillery model Luger pistols ordered by the Persian government in 1934. This contract was fulfilled from 1935-1936 and also included 1,006 4 inch barreled Lugers. These pistols exhibit the same high quality fit and finish exhibited by other Mauser-made Lugers and truly show their willingness to please their customers through the personalized crests and complete set of Farsi markings. The chamber area is marked with the Persian "crown/lion/sunburst" crest, a "crown/crown/U" proof on the front of the front sight base, left of the barrel extension and breech block, and the remainder of the markings in Farsi. All of the visible Farsi serial numbers with the matching full number (transliterated: 3781) on the receiver and frame, matching partial numbers on various components, an unnumbered barrel, and a non-matching Farsi numbered magazine (transliterated: 3520). Included with the pistol is a matching hardwood shoulder stock with correct unnumbered iron, an unmarked period brown leather flap holster, suspension belt, double magazine pouch, takedown tool, and cleaning rod.

Very fine, retains 80% original blue finish with some light edge wear and handling marks, some light freckling, 60% straw finish on the small parts and sharp markings in the metal overall. The grips are very fine with a small minor chip in the left panel and defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. Included accessories are fine. The shoulder stock rig is fine overall.
