The rifled barrels are casehardened and have brass cone front sights, Birmingham proofs, and "897" on the rib. The blue action has "WOODWARD'S/No 897/REGT FEBY 4, 1863" in an oval on the left side, a lanyard loop on the butt, and "897" at the heel. The pistol comes in a fitted hardwood case with green baize lining, a screwdriver, cleaning rod, and oiler.

Very fine with 75% plus original casehardened finish, 80% plus original blue finish, mostly bright hammer, some smooth brown patina, and light age and storage related wear. The grips are also very fine and have crisp checkering and minor handling wear. Mechanically fine. The case and accessories are fine and have mild storage wear.
