Blued Bohler steel barrels with a single brass bead sight on the matted solid rib, 2000 dated German proofs, 3 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, chokes marked "VZ"/"1/2" (improved cylinder/modified), import marked, and attractive scroll engraving in wedges at either breech. The coin finished, bolstered sidelock action displays beautifully cut extensive scroll engraving extending to the toplever, trigger guard, and both tangs. The gun is signed on the left lockplate "R.Weiß" for Merkel Master Engraved Ralph Weiß (Weiss). The gun features bushed firing pins, double triggers, and a tang mounted automatic safety switch. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings, including the Deeley latch release, and straight grip stock with factory buttplate. Included is a wood and leather takedown case. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved at 16.0mm (.630 inches) and measured .629/.630 inches; choke constriction .009/.017 inches; minimum wall thickness .031/.030 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 14 5/8 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 5 oz.

Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case is very fine. Mechanically excellent.
