Description:

This revolver was manufactured in 1862, and is cut for a shoulder stock (not included) on the recoil shield and heel. The barrel has a brass cone front sight and the one-line New York address. The left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/PATENT." The left side of the trigger guard has a "2" at the front and "36 CAL" on the rear. "2" is also marked by the serial numbers on the trigger guard and back strap. Matching serial numbers are marked on the wedge, arbor pin, cylinder, barrel, frame, trigger guard, and back strap. The replacement loading lever is numbered "5145."

Rating Definition:

Very good with patches of original finish in the protected areas, dark aged patina on the silver around the trigger guard bow, aged patina on the brass, gray and brown patina on the balance, and general moderate wear, including oxidation and pitting. The grip is fine and has mild handling and edge wear, light scratches and dings, and over half of the "piano" finish remaining. Mechanically fine.
