Manufactured in 1880 as a Third Model with integral dust cover guide and dust cover with grip serrations at the rear. The top barrel flat is marked with the two-line address and King's patent marking and correctly lacks a caliber marking, as .44-40 W.C.F. was the only caliber offered in this model at the time. The upper tang is marked with the model designation and the serial number is on the lower tang. The left side of the lower tang is marks "520 S", with "520" repeated in the stock inlet. It is fitted with a non-factory replacement Patridge style blade front sight, an elevation adjustable rear sight, and special order sling swivels on the nosecap and bottom of the buttstock. It is mounted with a smooth forearm and oil finished straight grip stock with a smooth steel shotgun buttplate.

Fine, retains 60% of the original blue finish, 40% of the original case colors, and 50% of the original niter blue on the loading gate with the balance having thinned to a mixture of grey and brown patinas. The wood is also fine with a few scattered minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
